If only the food distribution center had been inside a gun-free zone, the beheading of a 54-year-old woman in Oklahoma might not have occurred.
If only company Chief Operating Officer Mark Vaughan had taken the advice of the White House and hidden under his desk, using a stapler to fend off any attacks, beheading suspect Alton Nolen might not be in a hospital.
If only the company had shown more compassion for Nolen’s Islamic beliefs, he might not have gone off the deep end.
Yes, there really are people who are stupid enough to believe those things in regards to the brutal beheading of a 54-year-old woman and stabbing of another woman by an Islamic convert in Oklahoma on Friday.
The news about Nolen just keeps getting grimmer and grimmer.
A jailhouse convert to Islam, Nolen has a lengthy criminal record. He was released early on probation in 2013, after which he went to work at Vaughan Foods in Moore, Oklahoma.
His co-workers knew Nolen in part for his efforts to convert others to Islam. His Facebook page is a veritable shrine to his Islamic beliefs since April 2013, shortly after his early release. The page is filled with pictures of Nolen, who calls himself Jah’keem Yisrael, with members of a local mosque, although all the mosques in town seem to be disowning him.
He also posted multiple warnings that “shariah law is coming” and telling people to convert to Islam.
The capper on his career at Vaughan Foods, however, was that he got into an apparently vicious argument over the stoning of women who commit an offense against Islam. Hint: He was for it.
This whole beheading incident has liberals squirming in their seats. The media at first tried to avoid any mention of Nolen’s religious beliefs (“religion of peace” doesn’t square too well with “beheader of women”), and the murder is being characterized as “workplace violence.”
But the part that has liberals most upset is that the murderer was not using a gun, but he was stopped by a man with a gun.
The fact that a good guy used a gun to stop a bad guy who was in the process of trying to commit mass murder with a weapon other than a gun, just walks all over the anti-gun crowd’s worldview.
The fact that Vaughan is a reserve deputy is being stressed by media outlets that just can’t bear the thought of an ordinary citizen using a gun to stop crime. But the fact remains that Vaughan was there because he was an executive of the company, not because he was a cop.
Training in firearm use can be obtained by anyone. You don’t have to be a law enforcement officer.
But liberals are deeply threatened by that idea because it goes against their beliefs that government should solve all their problems.
It’s also a threat to the establishment that wants citizens to be subservient cattle.
In any event, it’s a good thing Mr. Vaughan was present and had access to a gun, otherwise there would have been at least one more dead person, possibly several, before police arrived.
To paraphrase an old saying: Average police response time is 11 minutes. Response time of a .38-caliber: 1,200 feet per second.
