Bernie Sanders’ latest Trump-centric claim has President’s base in stitches

Some people will say anything to get elected, especially democrats.

As the 2020 election approaches, the massive field of liberal candidates vying for the White House has turned hyperbolic…and that’s putting it nicely.  The twenty-some democrats at the heart of the competition have been lashing out at one another and at the President for months on end, each trying to win the game of one-upmanship in order to secure votes.

This has led to some very wacky, silly ideas being floated.  Marianne Williamson famously claimed that Donald Trump was a “dark, psychic energy” casting a pall over the nation.  Andrew Yang promised voters $1,000 per month of “universal basic income” to vote for him.  Joe Biden said…well…a whole lot of things that don’t seem to make any sense whatsoever.

Not to be outdone, of course, Bernie Sanders just dropped a bombshell regarding President Trump and the 2020 election.

Oh, is that so?

And this may have been more profound a statement if Bernie hadn’t already been lambasting the President from every-which direction in that past, including this gem of a tweet.

Defeating an incumbent President has been an historically rare occurrence, and Donald Trump is no ordinary figure in American politics.  His outsider status in Washington means that the democrats will likely have to throw out decades’ worth of political playbooks in order to move the needle with Trump’s supporters.

And, given the way that the 2020 primaries are going so far, that doesn’t seem likely.
