Boy Scout Executive Board Member Pushes for ‘Gay’ Scout Leaders

Does the insanity ever stop? “James Turley, the chief executive officer of [the accounting firm] Ernst & Young, says he does not support the Scouts’ policy of excluding homosexuals and ‘will work from within to seek a change.’ He is the first member of the Scouts’ executive board known to publicly disapprove of the policy, but AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson has indicated that he might also be interested in Turley’s effort.”

The Boy Scouts put high profile men on their boards for publicity and fund raising purposes. I don’t know if Turley and Stephenson were vetted before they joined, but in the future the Boy Scouts need to get a signed statement from any future board members on what their policy beliefs are. A change in policy belief on the homosexual issue would require a resignation.

Turley’s views should not have been a surprise to the Boy Scouts since Ernest & Young was recognized by a homosexual workplace web site as a leader in “diversity”:

Leading professional services firm Ernst & Young LLP was recently honored as one of the “Top 50 Companies for Diversity” by DiversityInc magazine. In recognition of the firm’s commitment to workplace equity, Ernst & Young ranked 24 overall and ranked six on the magazine’s “Top Ten Companies for GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender) Employees” list.

“At Ernst & Young we believe our competitive advantage is highly dependent on our ability to leverage the differences of our people to create diversity of thought,” said James S. Turley, Chairman and CEO, Ernst & Young LLP. “We are pleased to be recognized among this esteemed group of employers and proud of our efforts and achievements in building an inclusive culture.”

AT&T isn’t any better. AT&T is “No. 8 on the Top 10 Companies for LGBT Employees.” LGBT stands for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual, and Transgendered.

The Boy Scouts need to get their act together. It’s not all about corporate-world acceptance and fund raising. If the Boy Scouts do the right thing, families will support them. They need to quite playing both ends against the middle.

One would think that the Jerry Sandusky affair would breathe some sense into these corporate CEOs and groups pressuring the Boy Scouts to give in to homosexual demands.
