New York’s Democrat Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, has ended her campaign for president.
Gillibrand ended her absurd, longshot candidacy via a tweet to supporters on Wednesday.
“Today, I am ending my campaign for president,” the Sen. wrote.
“I am so proud of this team and all we’ve accomplished. But I think it’s important to know how you can best serve. To our supporters: Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Now, let’s go beat Donald Trump and win back the Senate,” she concluded

Gillibrand was never able to get out of the one or two percent zone since the day she entered the quest for the Democrat nomination for president.
Early on Wednesday, some of Gillibrand’s staffers leaked that her decision to quit was about to come.
As the New York Post reported:
“It would be best if she decided that this was not her time,” said one longtime Gillibrand fundraiser, who claimed the Democratic contender’s well-heeled supporters want her to remain in the US Senate.
“Most people that I talk to are very happy with her as their senator and don’t want her to give up her Senate seat and don’t see any realistic traction for her.”
And then there were these cutting remarks:
“I don’t know that anyone even wants to see her on the debate stage. Everyone I have talked to finds her performative and obnoxious,” said a former senior staffer in Gillibrand’s Senate office.
“She comes across as an opportunist to the public. I think that’s the biggest problem,” said the staffer, who criticized the candidate’s flip-flopping on guns and immigration. “I think she’ll have to seriously evaluate her campaign and her candidacy if she doesn’t make this debate.”
Gillibrand has a terrible reputation as a jerk to her staffers, too.
Literally no one likes her.
So, its good riddance, Kirsten. Another Dem. candidate bites the dust.
