Chicago Police Set to Send HUGE Bill to Jussie Smollett for Cost of Investigation

The Chicago Police Department is reportedly preparing to send a very large bill to Empire actor Jussie Smollett demanding that he pay for the city’s costs for investigating the hoax hate crime he perpetrated.

“The City of Chicago will be sending Mr. Smollett a bill,” Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the media on Thursday.

“From a 30,000-foot view, the bill will include the hours, the overtime, the financial costs and the resources that were used” in probing what authorities say is a hoax, Guglielmi said.

But according to PagSix, that bill won’t even include the outside resources that the city paid for to conduct the investigation.

“It was an extensive investigation that required a lot of review of cameras. There was technical assistance provided by external agencies, but it’ll likely only include Chicago expenses and not expenses incurred by the FBI and other technical experts we brought in for analysis,” Guglielmi added.

Guglielmi was not prepared to offer an estimate of the charges and noted that the city is still calculating the final bill. (Update: Chicago officials now say the bill amounts to $130,000.)

Most of Chicago’s police and political establishment were furious that Cook County State’s Attorney Kimm Foxx — an associate of the Obamas — suddenly and inexplicably dropped all the charges against the actor.

The charges were dropped despite weeks of investigations into his hoax that found that he hired two friends to beat him up so that he could claim two white men attacked him.

Aside from the fury of Chicago officials, even the FBI is looking into the corruption in Foxx’s office.

Chicago ABC News reporter Rob Elgas is reporting that the FBI has decided to look into the actions of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and her office after Foxx let hate crime hoaxer Jussie Smollett off the hook so suddenly.

“Two law enforcement officials briefed on the matter tell @ABC the FBI is *reviewing* circumstances surrounding dismissal of criminal charges against Jussie Smollett,” Elgas tweeted on Wednesday. “ABC News is told this is not an investigation. It is a ‘review’ or ‘inquiry’.”

“As the @ABC7Chicago I-Team revealed this morning, records obtained from the Chicago police file on the Smollett case show the FBI was already involved in part of the investigation,” Elgas added. “In that report, it was revealed that CPD forwarded a copy of a search warrant pertaining to Jussie Smollett’s Apple iCloud account to an FBI analyst.”

The curiosity by the FBI makes sense after the Kim Foxx team dropped all 16 felony charges even though the Chicago Police AND a grand jury saw plenty of evidence to convince them that Smollett faked the hate crime he claims was perpetrated against him.
