An ex-CIA officer warns that the Democrats will become single-minded in the hunt for a way to destroy President Donald Trump in 2019. “They’re going after him with a hatchet,” he warned.
Noting that the Democrat-led House of Representatives will do nothing but launch attacks and search for ways to destroy Trump, former CIA case officer Robert Baer warned that this country is just about to be plunged into political civil war.
CNN host Jim Sciutto spoke with Baer on Friday morning with the topic focused on the death of Muslim Brotherhood operative Jamal Khashoggi who was apparently murdered in the Saudi embassy in the country of Turkey.
They keep calling Khashoggi a “journalist,” but that wasn’t really his main job. His main job was to be a political flack for the Muslim Brotherhood by supplying occasional op-eds in various news outlets. He was far more a political operative than a mere “journalist.”
Whatever Khashoggi was or wasn’t, Baer sees President Trump’s reaction to the murder as a main avenue for the Democrats to attack him once they take the reins of power in the House next year.
“That gives Democrats powerful chairmanships of committees, and we have Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) now who will be the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee saying, among the things, that he wants the committee to investigate is whether Trump Organization has financial ties in Saudi Arabia that is influencing the president’s decision here,” Sciutto said to Baer. “How impactful could an investigation like that be?”
“Oh, Jim, it’s going to be huge,” Baer replied. “I have already gotten e-mails this morning from Congress asking who should they put in front of committees.”
Baer went on to warn that the Democrats are preparing for all-out war.
“They’re going to come after this president with hatchets, these Democrats,” Baer continued. “They’re going to uncover a lot of financial connections that go back years. I mean, essentially Russia and Saudi Arabia floated, you know, the Trump property empire in its bad times — a lot of investments from the royal family, current ones I don’t know.”
Baer added that this political war will go on, and on for the next two years at least.
