CNN anti-Trumper April Ryan blamed Donald Trump for her bodyguard’s controversial assault on a reporter during a townhall meeting in New Jersey early this month.
Reporter Charlie Kratovil, a self-identified liberal, had been awarded official press credentials for the New Jersey Parent Summit on Aug. 3 where Ryan was speaking. Kratovil was set up with his video camera among the other journalists at the back of the room — some of whom also had video cameras — when Ryan’s hulking bodyguard went up to the stage and whispered to Ryan. Ryan nodded her head and looked toward the reporter. The thug bodyguard then approached the reporter and physically removed him from the room.
Ryan has finally answered to this incident in an interview with CNN leftist blogger Brian Stelter, Ryan insisted that she did not order her bodyguard to remove the reporter.
Ryan claimed that her bodyguard was afraid for her safety over the one reporter, for some unknown reason that Ryan did not explain.
She added that she nodded because the bodyguard told her to “stop talking.”
But Ryan also tried to blame Trump for the incident.
“I do receive death threats. I continue to receive death threats,” Ryan told Stelter. “The atmosphere around me is charged, and that’s one of the reasons why I assume he may have overreacted because he was concerned for my safety but it doesn’t make you feel good to get a death threat and have to send it to the FBI and local authorities. I’m a person in the community, of children. I have friends, I have family. It’s a tough situation to live under but I do it and unfortunately, I have to have bodyguards around me.”
Trump has whipped up hate for her, you see?
Oh, and another thing Ryan slipped in there without elaboration is that she said, “my former bodyguard.”
So, on top of blaming him for “overreacting,” Ryan also fired the bodyguard.
The facts seem to speak contrary to Ryan’s tale. The original video of the event shows Ryan looking toward the reporter and nodding her head when the bodyguard spoke to her. She clearly understood that the bodyguard intended to remove the accredited reporter from the room and at her orders.
Secondly, you can hear Ryan defending the actions of her body guard right there on the video. In the background you can hear Ryan saying that she does not have reporters reporting on her speeches.
Here is the video of the incident:
It is clear that Ryan knew what her bodyguard was doing and he was doing it by her order.
April Ryan is a liar.
