Conservative Activist Laura Loomer Announces Run for Congress in Florida’s District 21

Conservative activist Laura Loomer made the announcement Friday that she is gearing up to run against Democrat Lois Frankel in Florida’s 21st Congressional District.

Loomer, a resident of Palm Beach, Florida, registered last week as a Republican candidate, according to the Federal Election Commission.

The announcement isn’t a big shock because the blogger, and media activist had previously told the Floridian that she was considering the idea of challenging Frankel.

“We reached out to Loomer for comment and asked her if she was going to run. Loomer stated that she was ‘giving it a lot of thought’ and ‘thinking about doing it,’ but added that she had not decided on what she was going to do,” the blog wrote on June 13.

Loomer will have to beat at least three other previously announced Republicans in the 2020 primary to be able to face Frankel. And Frankel will be a high hill to climb, too, as she won her last race by 27 points over her GOP challenger.

But Loomer may have one thing her opponents lack; name recognition. That could also be her drawback in the heavily Democrat district since the left-media has gone out of its way to destroy her long before ever trying to run for Congress.

For instance, here is how the leftist Daily Beast titled its article about her run: “Anti-Muslim Activist Laura Loomer to Run for Congress.”

Loomer did make a statement which was published by The Hill late on Friday:

“My opponent cares far more about radical leftist special interests, her anti-Semitic colleagues, and protecting criminal illegal aliens from deportation than about her district and constituents here in Florida who she’s supposed to be working for, not against.”

It was also announced that Karen Giorno, Trump’s 2016 Florida state director, is planning to serve as Loomer’s campaign chief.

Loomer has gained notoriety for being attacked by the tech giants. She has been repeatedly suspended and banned from Twitter and had her Paypal account closed, as well.

“Big-Tech censorship of conservatives is an issue of growing importance to Americans,” Loomer said. “Tech titans’ censorship … makes it clear that Republicans are under attack.”
