“House of horrors” parents get 25 years to life in prison for abusing and torturing 12 of their 13 children as the siblings speak out: “My parents took my whole life from me, but now I’m taking my life back.”
The California couple tortured 12 of their 13 children by starving and beating them, depriving them of sleep and sometimes chaining them to their beds.
Here are the emotional victim impact statements from two of the abused Turpin family children that were read during the trial of their parents David and Louise.
The California “house of horrors” parents who abused and tortured 12 of their 13 children were sentenced to life in prison Friday with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
“Sometimes, I still have nightmares of things that have happened, like my siblings getting chained up or beaten,” said one of the Turpins’ sons in an impact statement he read to the courtroom.
Another one of the Turpins’ children, identified as Jane Doe No. 4, also read a statement ahead of the sentencing. Of the living conditions, she said, “Life may have been bad, but it made me strong.”
“My parents took my whole life from me but now I’m taking my whole life back,” she said.
She said she is in college now and doing well. More

This case tears my heart apart. I just don’t understand how anyone could do this to another living being, especially their own children. It saddens me to think of how many others are in this same situation right now.
The only reason they’re sorry is that they hoped for a lenient sentence. The cold hard truth is if their daughter had not escaped these children would still be with them and still being tortured. These “parents” deserve to burn!
