Democrat House leaders snubbed demands by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that she be placed on a prestigious tax-writing committee this week.
With the backing of several radical progressive groups, New York’s favorite new Congresswoman sought to be placed on the powerful the House Ways and Means Committee in the House of Representatives.
But instead of handing the plum assignment to Ocasio-Cortez, Democratic leadership gave the seat to Democrat, Long Island Rep. Tom Suozzi.
Suozzi will now take the chair once filled by Rep. Joe Crowley, the once-powerful Queens Democrat that Ocasio-Cortez defeated last year, the New York Post reported.
AOC, or as many are calling her Alexandria Occasional-Cortex, had demanded to fill Crowley’s seat so that she could push her radical anti-business, and middle-class-crushing tax hikes.
Apparently, Democrat leadership was not as impressed with her ideas as she is.
Ocasio-Cortez’ staffer, Corbin Trent (wow, what a soy-boy name that is) said that his boss was not too upset about it all.
“She hoped to be on it, but we’re excited to see what committees she does get,” Trent told the media.
Democrat leadership also disappointed radical Islamist Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan. Tlaib wanted to be given a slot on the Appropriations committee, but she was snubbed, too.
Now, usually freshmen Reps are never placed on the most powerful committees. But Ocasio-Cortez thought that her star turn would be enough to get her the assignment. Like msot millennials, she wants all the perks without putting in the time and work.
