A career State Department official now says that he warned the Obama administration about the unseemliness of Hunter Biden’s shady Ukraine deals way back in 2015.
George Kent, a deputy assistant secretary of state, testified Tuesday that he felt Hunter Biden’s sudden entrance into foreign companies did not pass the smell test with his vice president father flying around the world at the same time dealing with foreign nations.
Kent said that with Hunter’s miraculous addition to the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, it would be harder for U.S. diplomats to impress on Ukrainian officials that they should avoid conflicts of interest, MSN reported.
Clearly, the Obama administration was warned of just how bad Hunter’s big-money deals looked.
Kent also said that the State Dept. worried that Ukrainian officials would pressure Hunter to curry influence with Vice President Joe Biden and that they warned Obama about this problem.
Joe Biden has insisted that he never knew a thing about his son’s deals with Burisma and that he never talked about it with Hunter. However, that is a claim that even Hunter has undermined.
During an interview with ABC, Hunter said that he did talk to his dad about his Ukraine deal while Joe was vice president.
However, Joe has insisted that he never talked to Hunter about Ukraine at all.
“I never discussed with my son anything having to do with what was going on in Ukraine. That’s a fact,” Biden said on the campaign trail on Wednesday.
Joe Biden is clearly lying.
This is not all the news that has emerged about Hunter this week. Another report finds that Hunter received a $700,000 payment from a Chinese investment firm after his father flew to China on a foreign policy mission during the Obama years.
