The director of a museum that exists on taxpayer funding took to Twitter last week with a wish that all Republicans and Trump voters would die.
There’s your kinder, gentler, more caring, more adult liberals for you, huh?
Melonnie Hicks, executive director of the Pioneer City County Museum in Sweetwater, let her inner fascist liberal roar out last week on Super Tuesday.
“I hope every single one of you pieces of s**t that votes Republican dies today,” Hicks wrote, according to a report by KTXS.
Hicks later deleted the tweet and apologized, but not before someone took a screen shot and then began passing her hateful words around the city.
As soon as Texans began learning of Hicks’ hate-filled tweet, the board of her museum met to try and figure out how to address the disgusting remark.
The board met on Friday at the Sweetwater Police Department.
But ahead of the meeting, City Manager David Vela called the comments “regrettable.”
“It’s regrettable and reprehensible, especially from someone who is a community leader,” said Vela. “Those kind of comments should never be made on social media or anywhere else.”
Vela added that the city does not condone the tweet.
The board also deactivated the museum’s Facebook page.
Hicks made her apology, saying, “I was really mad at Republicans for voting against health care since my options today are die or go into debt to see the doctor. It was gross which is what I deleted it.”
In other words, she isn’t sorry at all. She is only sorry she was caught.
This is who you have running your museum. She should be fired! I’m sure Sweetwater Tx is a wonderful place to visit but the museum won’t be on my list pic.twitter.com/5ArCntMbAv

The board has not yet announced what it intends to do about Hicks, or whether or not she still has the position she has held since 2013.
It appears that Mz Hicks handed in a resignation letter after the board met on Friday:
