Why don’t we ever hear about a black cop shooting a white person? I’m sure it happens but the lack of any media coverage would lead you to believe that it never does or that it’s always justifiable. But when a white cop shoots a black person, it’s automatically a racial hate crime and black activists demand the blood of the white cop.
On August 5 2014 John Crawford III was shopping in a Beavercreek Wal-Mart in the Dayton, Ohio area. He picked up an air gun that looked very much like an AR-15. He was observed waving the gun around by other shoppers who called 9-1-1. The caller told the dispatcher that a shopper was carrying an assault rifle in the store. When the dispatcher asked if he was pointing it at people, the caller said yes that the gunman was aiming his assault weapon at other shoppers.
Beavercreek police officers responded and found Crawford in the store still waving the gun around. They ordered him twice to put the gun down but Crawford disobeyed both orders. When Crawford turned to face the officers, still holding the gun, they shot him.
Like Ferguson, Missouri, the black community instantly started screaming that a white cop wrongfully murdered an innocent black man. They claim that Crawford did nothing wrong. They ignore the fact that he twice refused to obey police orders to put the gun down. They ignore the fact that it was impossible for the police officers to know at the time that the gun Crawford was holding was a pellet gun and not a real assault rifle. The officers were acting upon the information they were receiving from the 9-1-1 caller and then what they witnessed.
Please take the time to watch the entire video below as the circumstances are explained in detail. They explain the 9-1-1 call and why the officers responded the way they did and why they eventually shot Crawford.
All of the details of the shooting were brought before a grand jury. They watched the surveillance video and they talked with 15 witnesses. They concluded that the police officers were justified in their shooting of Crawford.
Of course the black community is unwilling to accept the truth of what happened. The NAACP has gotten involved and now the Department of Justice is launching their own investigation. This doesn’t surprise me as Attorney General Eric Holder is a very racist man who, like Al Sharpton, goes out of his way to create racial issues against whites and dismisses similar issues involving blacks.
Holder has a record of protecting blacks who have been caught on video committing federal felonies and he has a record of going after any law enforcement officer or department who do their job. He called for the prosecution of white Officer Darren Wilson of the Ferguson police department before all of the facts were known. Holder filed federal charges of racial profiling against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his entire department for supposedly racially profiling Hispanics. Holder ignored the fact that illegals, which are over 90% Hispanic, are responsible for a huge portion of the crimes committed in Maricopa County.
The black community says they want equality, but their actions say otherwise. They don’t want to acknowledge that a white cop can justifiably shoot a black person in the commission of a crime or the apparent threat of harming them or others. They have no problem if a white cop shoots a white person doing the same thing or if a black cop shoots a white person doing the same thing but when it’s a white cop and a black person, they won’t accept the truth.
The sad part of all of this, besides having the careers of good cops ruined, is that good cops are going to die because they’ll hesitate a second too long before taking necessary lethal action against a black person. In the back of a white cop’s mind will be what happened in Ferguson, Cincinnati and now Dayton. They’re going to think twice before pulling the trigger and that second thought may just get them killed.
