Donut Chain Takes a Stand Against NFL Kneelers

Maple Donuts is taking a stand for what’s right!

A donut chain based in York, Pennsylvania is in the spotlight for a controversial billboard that they put up. It calls attention to the current situation where NFL players have been taking a knee. The disrespectful trend then quickly spread to other sports.

The billboard, located along the US Route 30, reads “Maple Donuts takes a stand not a knee.”

The area is mostly Conservative, so they agreed with the message. However, there are people who are outraged at the billboard and have taken to social media to speak out about it.

One person wrote, “I wish the owner of Maple Donuts wouldn’t use race as a wedge issue,” one critic wrote on social media, the network reported.

Fox News Insider reports:

But, a manager for one of Maple Donuts’ locations said the message is meant to be “100 percent patriotic.”

Jim Nelson said that Maple Donuts president Charlie Burnside’s “personality is coming out in those billboards.”

The ads are not the first time the chain took a stand on a public issue, as the company’s location near Lisburn, Pa. posted a pro-Trump banner prior to the election, according to the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

Do you support the message? Should people stand for the national anthem?
