Draw Muhammad for 10,000 Bucks

One of my favorite firebrands, Pamela Geller, has announced that the First Annual Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest will be held in Garland, Texas, at the same site as a “Stand With the Prophet” conference was held in January.

The contest is being organized in part in reaction to the Charlie Hebdo murders in Paris. After the attack, the Council on American Islamic Relations organized the “Stand With the Prophet” conference in January at the Curtis Caldwell Center, which is owned by the Garland School District.

Geller, who is the president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, showed up to that event with some 2,000 protesters in tow.

“The European press ran the Hebdo cartoons in the wake of that jihad slaughter,” Geller told Breitbart. “But the American press would not. The beacon of freedom, the shining light on a hill, is running scared. Well, that’s not who we are. The elites do not represent the people.

“Enough is enough. They’re just cartoons. We’re holding this exhibit and cartoon contest to show how insane the world has become — with people in the free world tiptoeing in terror around supremacist thugs who actually commit murder over cartoons. If we can’t stand up for the freedom of speech, we will lose it — and with it, free society.”

As if the chance to earn a personally engraved fatwa by ticking off drooling hordes of jihadist jackals wasn’t enough to get artists drawing, the winner will get a $10,000 prize.

The planned exhibit will feature images of Muhammad from throughout history and the present day. The conference will also feature presentations by free speech advocates from around the world.

“This event will stand for free speech and show that Americans will not be cowed by violent Islamic intimidation. That is a crucial stand to take as Islamic assaults on the freedom of speech, our most fundamental freedom, are growing more insistent,” Geller said.

I can’t wait to see how this shakes out. The jihadists and the “moderates” who pack their explosives can get very creative with their threats and intimidation tactics, while Geller is notoriously tough. Personally charming and charismatic, Geller is actually a lot like the X-men character Wolverine — she’s got bones of adamantium and is probably darn near indestructible.

If she pulls this off — and it would take something on the level of Texas snapping off the continent and sinking into the ocean to stop her — hoo boy. “Firestorm” probably wouldn’t begin to describe the results.

I say go for it.

The Left, and even many people on the Right, in this country need to realize we are in the midst of an ongoing war against a foe that is every bit as fascist and evil as any enemy we’ve faced. The “radical” Islamist movement is Islam, President Obama’s denials notwithstanding.

There may very well be genuine moderate Muslims out there somewhere, but you know what? They aren’t standing up to be counted, for fear of having their heads cut off.

The Nazi-inspired Muslim Brotherhood and its many offshoots are in charge.

And just like the Left admired and supported Nazis in the 1930s, many American Progressives are supporters of Islamo-fascism today, openly or secretly.

So, artists of the free world, sharpen your pens and give them what for.
