One of New York’s finest was arrested by the FBI for plotting to abduct, rape, torture, cook and eat a number of women. A six-year NYPD veteran, Gilberto Valle kept a large database on his computer of about a hundred different women complete with photos and home addresses of each. He used state and federal databases to search for his potential victims and would also stalk some of these women at their homes or workplaces.
Valle had been researching “methods of disabling and drugging women” when he had decided on his first victim. He even kept a file on his computer entitled “Abducting and Cooking [victim’s name]: a Blueprint.” In this file, he had a photo of the woman, her address, height, weight and other vital demographic information such as her bra size. The Smoking Gun reports that he discussed his plans with a co-conspirator via e-mail and instant messaging:
“In one July communication, Valle wrote that he was contemplating tying one ‘tasty’ woman ‘onto some kind of apparatus…cook her over a low heat, keep her alive as long as possible.’ When asked about the size of his oven, Valle replied, ‘Big enough to fit one of these girls if I folded their legs.'”
The FBI had intercepted his electronic communications with this co-conspirator who wanted to pay Valle to abduct a different girl for him. Valle had agreed to a price of $5,000. Here’s an actual instant message conversation between Valle and one of his unknown co-conspirators taken from the FBI’s criminal complaint:
“Valle: It is going to be so hard to restrain myself when I knock her out, but I am aspiring to be a professional kidnapper and that’s business. But I will really get off on knocking her out, tying up her hands and bare feet and gagging her. Then she will be stuffed into a large piece of luggage and wheeled out to my van.
CC-2: just make sure she doesn’t die before I get her.
Valle: No need to worry. She will be alive. It’s a short drive to you. I think I would rather not get involved in the rape. You paid for her. She is all yours and I don’t want to be tempted the next time I abduct a girl.
CC-2: I understand. Also, is there anything I can trade you that might knock down the price a bit.
Valle: No nothing at all. Like I said this is very risky and will ruin my life if I am caught. I really need the money and I can’t take under $5,000 for [Victim-2]. “
Thankfully, nothing ever happened to any of the women that the cop wanted. The one woman labled “Victim 1” in the criminal complaint had actually met Valle for lunch on a Sunday earlier this month. Valle was bragging in one of the correspondences with one of the co-conspirators that the victim had no idea what he was planning behind her back.
You really can’t trust anyone these days. Just one more reason to carry a gun at all times.
