Former Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill was called out on Twitter for pushing a lie about the post office as a way to attack Donald Trump, on Monday.
McCaskill tried to join the left’s bandwagon by accusing President Trump of trying to remove mailboxes across the country. On Monday she jumped to her Twitter account to claim that mailboxes in Washington D.C. were being locked down so that citizens cannot use them.
“So now they are not hauling them off, just locking them up,” McCaskill tweeted. “This one is in D.C.”

Sharp-eyed Twitter users, though, inundated McCaskill with jibes letting her know that the exact same photo she was using has been used for days by leftists claiming it is in every city.
McCaskill later apologized, but then claimed her point was valid.
So… yeah, it’s a lie…. but its still true. If that isn’t a Democrat for you… what is?
A recent story at KABC-TV also debunked the claim that “Donald Trump was locking mailboxes.”
It turns out, the locking practice has been going on for years. It appears that the Post Office itself locks them.
Eyewitness News reached out to the USPS for an explanation, and an employee said it’s common practice for mailboxes outside post offices to be locked on days they are closed in an effort to prevent vandalism.
It also turns out that the mailboxes can still be used from the other side.
