Joseph Farah of WND made a good point in a Facebook post: “How is it that Fort Hood officials know almost nothing EXCEPT it’s not terrorism?”
This seems to be the first thing that comes from these types of events. It’s not terrorism.
“In 2009, Army psychiatrist and Islamist Maj. Nidal Hasan, who called himself a ‘mujahedeen,’ or holy warrior, shot 43 people. The Obama administration labeled it ‘workplace violence,’ not terrorism.”
This may be the case, but can’t we wait and see? Who knows how many other non-terrorist events were actually terrorist events but the media and this administration have covered up the facts to keep a lid on Islamic backlash. So far, this murder spree does not look like Islamic terrorism, but it certainly comes under the definition of “terrorism.” This was a planned attack.
There is another factor that keeps showing up in these types of shootings. Ivan Lopez was being treated for “depression” with “medication.” I want to be armed when I know that people who have been trained to kill are being medicated for anxiety and depression.
The 2009 Fort Hood shooting took place in what has been described as a “gun free zone.” Weapons were not permitted in certain parts of the base. It was in a “gun free zone” that the shooter chose to wreck havoc on so many innocent lives.
“Master Sgt. C.J. Grisham, who spoke exclusively to WND as he was attempting to leave Fort Hood, expressed frustration at the military’s gun-free policy for soldiers.
“He told WND, ‘What really bothers me is that the very people who are trained to take out armed attackers are left defenseless to do just that, which is to take out an armed attacker.’
“Grisham, who also confirmed that he’s the founder and president of Open Carry Texas, tweeted earlier in the day, ‘This reminds me of Afghanistan: People shooting at us and we can’t return fire.’
“He said, ‘As you may know, Fort Hood is a gun-free zone and soldiers are unable to defend themselves. Someone tell that to the shooter please.’”
All the gun control in the world won’t stop somebody who is intent on murdering people. Murderers don’t care about laws; that’s why they’re murderers.
It’s the same with thieves. There are probably thousands of laws against theft, but these laws do not stop people who steal.
A few weeks ago I walked into Academy Sports and Outdoors in Hiram, Georgia, to purchase some arrows for my new bow. When I went to the counter, I saw a man with a holstered six-shooter with a gun belt holding at least two dozen bullets. He looked like he just stepped out of a vintage western film.
That same week deputies arrested a man who “barged into a Paulding County hair salon and shot and killed a 27-year-old woman.” This happened not far from Academy Sports.
Which was the safer place? The hair salon with no weapon, or Academy Sports where several people were carry firearms?
And yet after this second Fort Hood shooting, gun control advocates will come out in droves calling for more gun registration and stricter gun control, and the criminals will high-five one another and cheer that their jobs were just made that much easier.Don't forget to Like Godfather Politics on Facebook and Twitter, and visit our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
