Revered Evangelical Franklin Graham is praising President Donald Trump for his stance on Christmas, and his emphasis on the true meaning of the holiday.
Donald Trump has been fierce in his views on putting ‘Christ’ back in Christmas.”The only thing missing are the words ‘Merry Christmas’,” he said earlier this month, “They’re using those words again.”
Graham claims that what Trump is doing is important because “Christmas is really about the birth of Jesus Christ, and that’s what we’re all celebrating.”
“Christmas is all about Christ,” Graham added, “I’m so excited that the president isn’t afraid to mention the name of Jesus Christ.”
He is quite right. Jesus is the reason for the season! Christmas is quite literally the celebration of our savior’s birth.
Graham said Trump continues to take a “bold” stand for religious freedom for all beliefs, and not just Christianity.
“This was a nation that was born for religious freedom,” he said.
Graham added that religion in the public square is under attack from secularist forces, like those who have sued over private businesses making decisions based on their personal beliefs.
He also gave an update on his father, Rev. Billy Graham, who turned 99 in November.
Franklin said that Billy Graham’s mind continues to be “sharp” and that he values everything the elder Graham has accomplished in his life.
