Gay Sues Bible Publishers Over God’s Condemnation of Homosexuality

First the United Nations tried to ban any negative talk about homosexuality, calling it a hate crime. Liberal God-haters here in the US have been trying the same thing with only limited success, until now.

Once the Supreme Court legalized homosexual marriage, we knew that Christians would be attacked, along with the Bible, in an effort to silence us and God. The attacks have now begun.

Bradley LaShawn Fowler, a homosexual ex-con turned author filed a lawsuit in federal court against Bible publishers Zondervan and Thomas Nelson. He contends that their inclusion of the word ‘homosexual’ in their 1982 and 1987 revised editions of the Bible where it calls it a sin has caused him emotional distress and now violates his constitutional rights.

Fowler says that the King James Version of the Bible that his family’s pastor uses has the term homosexual in it and that because of what the pastor has preached he has become an outcast to them due to his own homosexuality.

When Fowler filed his lawsuit in Michigan against Zondervan, he asked the court to appoint an attorney for him, but the court refused, so he is representing himself. The federal judge commented:

“The Court has some very genuine concerns about the nature and efficacy of these claims.”

Fowler first filed suit in Tennessee against Thomas Nelson, asking for $10 million for 20 years of ‘emotional duress and mental instability’. His lawsuit in Michigan against Zondervan is asking for $60 million for malicious negligence, strict liability, malice, libel and violating his civil rights.

Zondervan spokeswoman Tara Powers issued a statement saying:

“Since Zondervan does not translate the Bible or own the copyright for any of the translations we publish, we are not in a position to comment on the merits of how a word should or should not be translated.”

“We rely on the scholarly judgment of the highly respected and credible translation committees behind each translation and never alter the text of the translations we are licensed to publish. We only publish credible translations produced by credible biblical scholars.”

Lawsuits like Fowlers are going to increase and with our liberal courts and politicians, it won’t be long before saying, writing or publishing anything negative against homosexuality will be considered a hate crime. Preachers will no longer be allowed to read the Bible from the pulpit without the fear of being arrested, jailed and fined.

I know my pastor will not stop preaching God’s Word regardless of the possible consequences because he fears God more than he fears man. I also fear God more than man will refuse to stop speaking and posting the Word of God.

What about you? Are you willing to sacrifice all for Christ and your eternal salvation? If you’ve never asked yourself that question, I strongly suggest you do and do it soon because that time may come sooner than you ever realized.
