Grade School Cancels Traditional ‘First Thanksgiving Day’ Play Over ‘Sensitivity’ Worries

A Wisconsin elementary school cancelled its traditional “First Thanksgiving Day” play performed by first graders over PC worries that it was “racist” to Native Americans despite the fact that the play has been performed by the kids for many years with no complaints by anyone.

The school abruptly cancelled the play “out of respect for Native Americans” and over concerns about “the sensitivity of this time in our history,” Fox News reported.

First graders at Stone Bank Elementary School in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, have performed the play for decades, according to parents, but suddenly the play is to be no more because of the sudden decision by the fearful and progressive school administrators.

The school sent an email to parents only days before the play was to be performed to tell parents why it was so suddenly cancelled.

“Unfortunately, the children are unable to dress as a Pilgrim or Native American,” the parents were told via email.

“We apologize if you already purchased or made your child’s costume,” the woke email continued. “There have been some conversations and concerns about the accuracy of the first Thanksgiving story. Out of respect for Native Americans, and the sensitivity of this time in our history, we are not going to reenact the first Thanksgiving story.”

“Please disregard the practice paper your child has been busy reading over the last few days,” the email continued. “We still plan to have a Thanksgiving program where the children will perform a play, sing some songs, and share a big book with you. Again, we are sorry for the change of plans and hope that you understand.”

Before the play was nixed, students were instructed to learn about the first Thanksgiving Day in a handout such as this one below:

Parents, though, were quite unhappy with the cancellation of the traditional Thanksgiving program.

“The teachers have been doing this for years without an issue,” one parent told Fox News. “Why is it different now?”

It is just another example of how white people are being systematically excised from American history by progressive, PC educrats who are slowly but surely doing their best to eliminate our history and to prevent our children from being exposed to it.
