Democrats in the House of Representatives are planning to push out their extreme, anti-Second Amendment agenda for the 2019 session.
According to the Washington Post:
The proposal, headlined by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Gun Violence Prevention Task Force Chairman Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.), is a bipartisan measure, with Rep. Peter T. King (N.Y.) serving as the lead Republican co-sponsor.
King is a traitor. That much is certain.
This first salvo is aimed at background checks.
For years, Democrats and several Republicans have been calling for Congress to take steps to better regulate gun purchases and possession, pointing to a spate of recent mass shootings such as the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Fla., the 2017 massacre at an outdoor music festival in Las Vegas, the 2016 shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, and the 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., and at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo.
Anti-Constitution activist Gabrielle Giffords, a former Democrat who was shot by a whackjob in 2011, celebrated the move claiming that “Americans have spoken” and that we all want an end to our Second Amendment rights.
Americans have spoken. It’s time to address our gun violence epidemic, and this new Congress will not sit silent. https://t.co/MQjkhtiuJU

Speak for yourself, honey.
Democrats are pushing out their anti-gun agenda slowly. This first round will not address the Democrats’ favorite cause of banning so-called “assault weapons.”
Fortunately, it is unlikely that all this nonsense will get any traction in the Senate.
In fact, we can expect a lot of what the House does to be stymied in the Senate this year.
But ANYTHING that gets through will be bad.
