On Thursday President Trump proudly unveiled his task force of U.S. Senators who will help him plan to re-start the U.S. economy. Hilariously missing from that list is GOP traitor Mitt Romney, the only Republican not invited to participate by the White House.
It seems that the invitation for the Utah “Republican” — who has spent the last two years attacking everything Trump and Republicans do — got lost in the mail.
On Thursday, Trump unveiled the members he asked to join “the Opening Up America Again Congressional Group.”
Trump’s task force is a bipartisan affair having Senators from both parties, but he invited the entire GOP caucus… well, except for the carpetbagging Massachusetts resident masquerading as a Senator from Utah.
The White House April 16 press release said that “President Trump was pleased to hear such positive feedback” in his conference call with the task force “about the work that the Administration is doing to keep America healthy and prosperous, and thanked them for their participation.”
The task force features a bipartisan group of 70 U.S. Senators (including all of Romney’s 52 GOP colleagues), and 32 members from the House of Representatives, which includes 22 Republicans and ten Democrats.
Well, Romney won’t be able to give any feedback. Because he wasn’t invited.
Per Breitbart News:
Since Romney joined the United States Senate in 2019, he and Trump have sparred. Before that, the two also had a rocky relationship, with Romney calling Trump a “con man” during the 2016 presidential election. Similarly, Trump blasted Romney in February 2016 as “one of the dumbest and worst candidates in the history of Republican politics.”
Romney, one of the few Republicans who almost always breaks with Trump, also claimed he was “sickened” by the results of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report. Trump later referred to Romney as a “secret Democrat asset.”
This is the best dig at Romney yet.
He deserves to be ignored, too. So, good on the president for this sweet, sweet payback.
Utah, the ball is in your court to get rid of this dead weight.
