On October 19, 1781, British General Charles Cornwallis formerly surrendered, ending the Revolutionary War. Cornwallis and the British should have defeated George Washington and the American colonists. They out-numbered and out gunned the Americans. Washington attributed the victory to God and when Washington was inaugurated as America’s first president, he again gave all of the glory and credit to God.
Any student of true American history would know that America won its independence purely due to the blessings of God. For nearly 200 years, one can easily see the workings of God in protecting and defending America. Only by the hand of God did America become the world’s most prosperous and powerful nation.
That prosperity and power has been waning over the past several decades. In fact it’s been plummeting over the past 6 years. The Christian moral fabric that held America together has been ripped apart and turned into rags.
One of the signs of our moral decay is the open acceptance of homosexuality. Since Barack Obama assumed his throne, gays, lesbians, transgenders, bisexuals and other deviants have taken hold of America’s moral fabric and have been slicing it to shreds.
A recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey indicates just how far we as a nation have fallen from the moral standards that made us great. In 2006, prior to Obama, 41% of the people polled said they would be comfortable or enthusiastic to have an evangelical Christian as president. The same poll today says that 52% would be glad to embrace an evangelical Christian as president.
That may sound great, but consider what else they found out. The same 2006 poll indicated that 43% would be comfortable or enthusiastic with a homosexual as president. The same poll today said that 61% would embrace a homosexual president.
Dr. Alex McFarland, Co-host of American Family Radio’s Exploring the Word, commented about the findings, saying:
“Christianity — and even America itself — is dependent on there being moral boundaries. The ‘gay’ agenda is dependent on there not being any moral boundaries.”
“So what the American people are essentially saying is ‘we want a president who doesn’t believe in moral boundaries … We would rather have a president that was ethically amoral rather than dependent on the God of our founding fathers.”
The bottom line is that a homosexual president is favored by 10% more of the American people than an evangelical Christian president. This is a clear sign of how far our nation’s morals have fallen. History tells us that when a nation abandons its moral foundation, collapse from within is not far behind.
