According to the Department of Homeland Security, the number of illegals trying to swamp our border will top one million before the end of the year. So, how is this not a crisis?
According to DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, “The agency is now on track to apprehend more migrants crossing illegally in the first six months of this fiscal year than the entirety of FY17, and at the current pace we are on track to encounter close to one million illegal aliens at our southern border this year.”
The Daily Caller adds:
Nielsen’s testimony comes just one day after Customs and Border Patrol revealed that in February U.S. authorities apprehended or detained 75,000 illegal aliens constituting a 30 percent increase in illegal encounters or apprehensions over the previous month. Nielsen warned that “I can report today that CBP is forecasting the problem will get even worse this spring.”
Nielsen stressed that the capabilities of U.S. authorities are becoming stretched because of the unique nature of the situation. The vast majority of new arrivals at the border constitute family units from Central America claiming asylum.
DHS officials say that many of these illegals are trying to game the system.
“While many of them initially claim asylum and are let into the United States, only one in ten are ultimately granted asylum by an immigration judge. Unfortunately, when it comes time to remove the other 90 percent, they have often disappeared into the interior of our country,” Sec. Nielsen said.
Nielsen’s report lends credence to President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency on the southern border.
One of the worst aspects of the border crisis is the human trafficking aspect of it all.
Thousands of illegals are using children as a get out of jail free card by dragging them through the dangerous areas of Central America and Mexico only to get to the U.S. border and pretend they are a family.
But in fact, many of these kids are either stolen from their parents or sold by their parents to be used as a shield to allow criminals into the U.S.
And these children often end up in the sex trade once they get here (and often on their way here, regardless of age).
Democrats who oppose a wall are voting to support human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children!
