Even as the Senate Democrats running for president continue to claim they are the illegal alien’s best friend, every single one of the Sen. presidential candidates skipped the vote to send humanitarian relief to people on the border.
The Senate was to vote on a $4.6 billion package in emergency humanitarian aid for thousands of families stuck on the southern border.
The Democrat-controlled House passed the measure on Tuesday night and sent it to the Senate which rejected it 55-37. But upper chamber did pass a version of its own with a huge, bipartisan vote of 84-8, according to the Washington Post.
The Senate vote sent the must-pass legislation measure back the Democratic-controlled House. Next steps are unclear, but Pelosi quickly dismissed speculation that the Democratic-controlled House will simply accept the Senate measure, which cleared a key committee last week with just one dissenting vote. Asked if the House would pass the Senate bill and send it to Trump, Pelosi said, “No.”
However, not one of the illegals’ best friends bothered to show up to vote.
As the Free Beacon reported:
The 2020 Democratic candidates, which include Sens. Cory Booker (N.J), Kamala Harris (Calif.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), Michael Bennet (Colo.), Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), and Bernie Sanders (Vt.), were all out of town campaigning and preparing for the primary debates happening this week.
The Senate was not alone. All three of the House Democrats pretending to run for president also skipped the vote in the House of Representatives. (Eric Swalwell, Tulsi Gabbard, and Tim Ryan).
And yet, these Democrats have been running around saying that the people trying to break our laws to crash over our borders need our help. Well, here they had a chance to put their votes where their mouths were and… nothing. They skipped the vote. Not just some of them. ALL of them.
