Liberal scolds who think they know something about “science” have begun clamoring for a ban on vaping. But all such a ban will really do is push millions of Americans right back to smoking, and isn’t that worse?
Unfortunately, it appears that the Trump administration has also fallen for the hoax that vaping is uniquely and universally dangerous and needs to be banned.
Last week, the Trump administration announced that it is pursuing a ban on the sale of most flavored e-cigarettes. The action comes on the heels of a growing number of young people who have contracted a mysterious lung ailment that some blame on vaping. Hundreds of cases across the country have been reported with six deaths.
But jumping to an immediate ban based on this tiny number of cases out of millions of users makes no sense at all. Especially since it appears that most of the cases occurred because the vapers were using illicit marijuana-tinged vaping cartridges instead of the proper manufacturer’s products.
These vaping reactionaries say that banning vaping will “save lives.” but one of the main reasons that vaping was created in the first place was to wean people off of smoking cigarettes. So, what do these vaping banners think will happen when vaping is banned? Won’t most of these vapers simply return to smoking?
To reiterate, so far there have been six deaths tied to this ailment unscientifically linked to vaping. By contrast the Centers for Disease Control claims that there are 488,000 deaths every single year connected to smoking.
Which do you think is worse? Vaping or smoking?
Is vaping 100 percent safe? Probably not. Pumping that much nicotine into your system is never a good idea. But it is without a doubt safer and better than smoking tobacco.
Yet, if they have their way these knee-jerk vaping banners will driving millions of Americans right back to smoking and to an early death.
Americans should reject these nannystaters.
