For some, the idea of impeaching President Trump feels almost like a prerequisite.
Before Trump was even sworn in on that blustery, grey January day back in 2017, there were calls to have him impeached. Bizarre, I know, but we must ask ourselves, “what hasn’t been bizarre these last two years?”.
It seems almost inevitable that Trump will face some sort of litigious pressure from the ever-radical left, but how and when seems to be the sticky part. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has fully cemented herself in the “no impeachment” camp, for no other reason than to preserve the chances of a 2020 democratic electoral landslide.
That certainly hasn’t stopped the liberal left from asking for it, however. Day in and day out we hear calls for the President to face impeachment, and from all corners of the progressive landscape.
Now, one Hollywood A-lister believes that he has some secret, insider knowledge regarding the timeline for this supposedly inevitable move.
Hollywood actor-director Rob Reiner took to Twitter on Saturday and declared that “the impeachment process is about to begin,” against President Donald Trump.
“The Impeachment process is about to begin. The articles drawn up will be voluminous,” Rob Reiner said, offering no details to explain his claim. “Never in our nation’s history has there been a more lawless President. He has continually lied to the American people & has used the Presidency to line his pockets. GOP, history is watching.”
Reiner has long been an outspoken critic of the President’s, largely filling his social media channels with anti-Trump tirades and damning drivel.
Regular readers know that the All in the Family alum rarely lets a day go by without calling for President Trump’s impeachment.
Just a day before his latest declaration, Reiner said “The Lying Moron personally altered a hurricane map to protect his fragile ego. Our President is severely emotionally disturbed. Articles of Impeachment are inevitable.” He was referring to a photo of Trump holding a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) map of Hurricane Dorian that reflected storm prediction models showing the storm’s path headed for Alabama. The federal agency has since backed President Trump, saying in a statement that Alabama was at risk of being impacted by the storm.
Of course, this sort of confusing liberal sentiment is nothing new. House Judiciary Chair Jerry Nadler has similarly claimed that “impeachment inquiries” have already begun, despite there being no formal announcement of such action ever taking place.
