There was a time in America when White people considered race an issue that needed to be discussed. They looked back over the years of discrimination and said “enough is enough.” Many joined in marches in the South to help move America in a different direction on race.
Many people don’t know that Hollywood actor Charlton Heston was an early supporter of the civil rights movement as were other Whites.
“Though often portrayed as an ultra-conservative, Heston wrote in his 1995 autobiography ‘In the Arena’ that he was opposed to the McCarthy witch hunts of the 1950s, was against the Vietnam War and thought President Richard Nixon was bad for America.” He also participated in the March on Washington in 1963, along with liberal icons Burt Lancaster, James Baldwin, Marlon Brando, Sidney Poitier, and Harry Belafonte (see image here).”
Now we come to the 2012 election. The Democrats have made this election about race and abortion, and I suspect that a majority of Americans are getting tired of being told that they are “anti-women” if they don’t support the killing of pre-born babies and racist if they oppose the bad policies of the sitting president who happens to be black.
I’m sick of it.
The latest entry into “all white people are evil” and “you’re a racist if you don’t vote for Obama November 6” is “Rev.” Joseph Lowery. Lowery founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference along with Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1957. Lowery gave the benediction at Obama’s inauguration in 2009. Apparently Jeremiah Wright was busy.
Speaking at a “Get Out the Black Vote” rally in Forsyth, Georgia, Lowery said, “I don’t know what kind of a n—– wouldn’t vote with a black man running. All that he did with the stimulus was genius. Nobody intelligent would risk this country with Romney.” Lowery has a long history of race baiting.
Yeah, the “stimulus.” Stealing from some people to give to other people. Genius! And a violation of the Eighth Commandment: “You shall not steal.” Keep in mind that Lowery is a minister and said the following at the rally: “We’ve turned our backs on the faith. America is going to hell in a hand basket. We need to straighten up so God can use us.”
I guess “straightening up” doesn’t include stopping government theft, government redefinition of marriage (seventh commandment), and pre-born baby killing (sixth commandment) which is pandemic in the black community, so much so that it’s being labeled “black genocide.”
Diane Glidewell of the Monroe County Reporter reports that Lowery went on an anti-white rant. “Lowery said that when he was a young militant, he used to say all white folks were going to hell. Then he mellowed and just said most of them were. Now, he said, he is back to where he was.” This is a violation of the Ninth Commandment. Bearing false witness against your neighbor.
At the same time that Lowery was slamming whites, he went on to say, “I’m frightened by the level of hatred and bitterness coming out in this election.” While a prohibition against hypocrisy is not one of the Ten Commandments, the Bible has a lot to say about it (Matt. 7:5; 15:7–9; Rom. 2:3; James 1:26; 1 John 2:9; 4:20).
Tom Blumer of Newsbusters adds the following:
“The chances that any white pastor anywhere could go four days after saying analogous things about blacks and Obama as Lowery has said about whites and Romney without national press coverage are absolutely zero, regardless of the level of his involvement with the campaign.”
If someone sticks a finger in your eye, the next time he tries you’re going to grab it and give it a good bend. If you keep telling Whites that they’re racists because they disagree with the welfare state, high taxes, the redefinition of marriage, supporting pre-born baby killing, and class warfare — political positions supported by the Democrats (Black and White), people are going to react. They’re going to react not because they’re racists; they’re going to react because they’re not and they’re tired of being told they are.Don't forget to Like Godfather Politics on Facebook and Twitter, and visit our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
