A supposed journalist who writes for far left-wing Slate.com laughably claimed he saw members of the US. Special Forces selling gear in a flea market in Colombia, but people who actually have a bit of knowledge under their belt laughed him off the internet.
On Saturday, the tyke jumped to his Twitter account to reveal the startling news that the U.S. Army was sending its Special Forces troops to a market place in Bogota, Colombia.
I call him a “tyke” because this fool can’t be older than 25 and he is parading himself around like an adult in the world of “journalism.” His entire career is wrapped up in about a four-year span when he first showed up on the extremist, anti-American lefty site, Alternet, all the way back in 2015.
Anyway, Norton self-righteously tweeted out his big news saying, “Colombia (which has the highest rate of assassinations of activists n the world, with ore than 600 social movement leaders murdered since 2016) os crawling with US military.”
The youngster then breathlessly added, “I randomly came across this booth at an artisanal market in Bogota.”
He appended a short video that showed a fat guy in what can loosely be termed U.S. camo selling items from a tent.
In a follow up tweet the little guy added sarcastically: “Nothing to see here, just a guy wearing his US Special Forces uniform n a random market in Bogota. A perfect symbol for how Colombia is partially colonized by the U.S. which prevents the Colombian people from fundamentally changing their right-wing government.”
Well, that all sounds very serious, huh?
Only, lil’ Benny has a bit of a problem with his whole story. The fat guy selling surplus army gear wasn’t in the U.S. Special Forces. Unsurprisingly, like all liberals, Ben Norton is so ignorant of the military that he had no idea.
Besides being too out of shape and grossly overweight to be in the Special Force, the patches on the guy’s uniform were all sewn on incorrectly, as twitter users soon told Ben.
Turns out, ol’ Benny just found some dude trying to make a few bucks selling kitschy military stuff for the cool kids to wear in Bogota.
As it happens, young Benny took so much Twitter drubbing that he soon deleted his seriously overwrought and completely wrong tweets.
This is what happens why you send kids to do an adult’s work.
Come back to us when you are no longer wet behind the ears, Benny.
