When it came time for his turn to reply to the lies heaped upon him by the rapacious Democrats, Judge Brett Kavanaugh slammed Democrats saying that they have “replaced ‘advice and consent’ with ‘search and destroy.'”
As Breitbart News reported:
He read from a personal statement that he had appended to his prepared testimony, and written the day before.
In a searing indictment of the politicians before him, he mentioned some of the comments made by Democrats — including members of the committee — such as the claim by Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) that supporting Kavanaugh meant being “complicit in evil.” Others, he noted, said that “people will die if I am confirmed.”
The campaign to stop his confirmation, he said, had “destroyed my good name and my family” through a “calculated and orchestrated political hit.”
Whatever the reason, — whether fueled by “pent-up anger” over the election, or for other motives — he decried the damage done to him, to the Supreme Court, and to the country.
“This is a circus. The consequences will extend long past my nomination. The consequences will be with us for decades,” he said.
But Kavanaugh vowed that he wouldn’t let the hate-filled Democrats win with their evil tactics.
“You may defeat me in the final vote, but you’ll never get me to quit. Never,” Kavanaugh said.
Senator Lindsey Graham also eviscerated the Democrats over their conduct during this process. During his time to speak to the judge during the reconvened hearing, Graham instead laid his Democrat colleagues low.
Graham first slammed his colleagues for perpetrating an “unethical sham” with their conduct.
If you wanted an FBI investigation, you could have come to us! What you want to do is destroy this guy’s life, hold this seat and hope you win in 2020. You’ve said that. Not me! You’ve got nothing to apologize for. When you see [Justices] Sotomayor and Kagan, tell them that Lindsey said hello to them because I voted for them. I would never do to them what you’ve done to this guy! This is the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics, and if you really wanted to know the truth, you sure as hell wouldn’t have done what you have done to this guy.
Graham went on:
“If you really wanted to know the truth, you sure as hell wouldn’t have done what you did to this guy,” Graham said angrily. “Boy, you guys want power. God, I hope you never get it. I hope the American people can see through this sham. That you knew about it and you held it.”
“To my Republican colleagues, if you vote no, you’re legitimizing the most despicable thing I’ve seen in politics,” Graham said, adding to Kavanaugh. “I hope you’re on the Supreme Court. That’s exactly where you should be.”
