Rap mogul Kanye West again defended his support of President Donald Trump, adding that it is “mental slavery” for blacks to limit themselves to voting only for Democrats because of race.
During his latest Sunday service, the rapper reminded his audience of a few historical facts.
“That’s the Republican Party that freed the slaves,” West said in Salt Lake City, adding that it was a Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, who freed the slave.

Kanye added that people attack him because he “chose my right.”
And we got the right, right? We got a right to our opinions, right?” he continued. “You black, so you can’t like Trump? I ain’t never made a decision only based on my color. That’s a form of slavery, mental slavery.”

Kanye delivered his service to around 9,000 people, according to Desert News.
West has used the “mental slavery” line in the past.
During an interview with TMZ in 2018, West ruminated on slavery.
“When you hear about slavery for 400 years … for 400 years? That sounds like a choice,” West said. “Like, you was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all? It’s like we’re mentally in prison. I like the word ‘prison’ because slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks. It’s like slavery, Holocaust. Holocaust, Jews. Slavery is blacks. So, prison is something that unites us as one race. Blacks and whites being one race. We’re the human race.”
Kanye has never shied from his support of the president. He has often been seen in Trump hats and shirts.
He has also slammed liberals for “bullying” Trump supporters.
