Looks like the liberals have not quite convinced many Americans that Christmas should be banned from our schools. 74 percent of respondents recently said that the Christmas holiday should be celebrated in our public schools.
As the Washington Times reported:
“Most Americans continue to believe Christmas should be celebrated in public schools, and that there’s a place for religious symbols on public land,” said the poll analysis, which found that 74 percent of the respondents agreed that Christmas should be celebrated in public schools.
Fourteen percent disagreed, 12 percent were unsure in the survey, conducted Dec. 6-9.
The poll was conducted by the Rasmussen polling organization on December 6 and 9 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 points.
As of 2015, surveys found that nearly 75 percent of the U.S. population still claim to be Christian to one degree or another. That amounts to almost 240 million Americans identifying as Christians.
But leftists across the country have been working steadily for a decade or more to eliminate the holiday in the public sphere, especially in schools. They say the holiday isn’t “inclusive” enough.
Imagine that. Liberals are preaching “inclusivity” by excluding 75 percent of the population!
Just in the last two weeks alone we have had story after story of the left trying to eliminate Christmas in our schools.
Just to name two such stories, in Michigan a Christian-hating atheist group tried to force a grade school to take down the three wise men of its nativity decorations which have been a tradition in the town for seventy years.
In a second case, a Virginia middle school banned all songs that mention Jesus.
Finally, in yet another case, a left-wing grade school principle tried to ban Christmas altogether, and especially singled out candy canes because she feared their “j” shape might make kids think about Jesus.
