I am always surprised by how surprised the media is to learn that most Americans don’t agree with them on important political or cultural issues. For example, in the first Democrat debate Bernie Sanders loudly blared that everyone was tired of hearing about Hillary’s emails… but if you monitor the daily flow of news you know that that just isn’t the case. Many Americans are incredibly concerned about the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email problems because it has a direct impact on our future as a nation. Most Americans DO NOT want to elect a lying criminal as the leader of our nation, so the facts behind what really happened with her email are something that most of us do want to know about.
This disconnect reared its head again on Wednesday morning’s episode of Morning Joe on MSNBC when Mika Brzezinski covered a recent poll undertaken by MSNBC. The poll found that most Americans were indeed still very troubled by both Hillary’s response to Benghazi and by the seeming incongruities with her email server and the stories that she has spun during the investigation.
Mika Brzezinski: In this poll, more people are unsatisfied with Clinton’s response to the attack, 44%, then who think the investigation is unfair or too partisan, 36%. I’m actually really surprised about that, it is kind of like a disconnect between I guess with the people I talk to and the rest of the country.
Joe Scarborough: I’m just not surprised at all.
I’m with Joe on this. Benghazi and the email scandal may not be the most important issue to most Americans, but the vast majority of us are concerned by these issues and we want clear, honest answers before the 2016 election. Neither of these issues will be going away anytime soon… even if the Hillary campaign and her friends in the media would like it to.
