The Man and Daughter Who Drowned at US Border Were Not Truly ‘Refugee/Asylum’ Seekers

The world is rightfully heartbroken over the photo of a man and his little daughter who drowned trying to sneak into the U.S.A. illegally. But, the facts make their deaths worse because the man and his family were not fleeing strife and their deaths can only be blamed on the father who died.

The left has been propagandizing with the photo of Óscar Alberto Martínez Ramírez, and his daughter Valeria lying lifeless in a river on the Mexican side of the U.S. border near Matamoros, Mexico, and Brownsville, Texas.

It is an example, they say, of how evil are America’s laws governing legal immigration and how bad it is that America expects to have a controlled border.

The left is wringing hands crying about “asylum seekers” and insisting that we need to throw open our borders and have no immigration laws at all.

But there are a few facts that show that the man’s death can only be blamed on the man himself, not the U.S.A., and certainly not President Donald Trump.

That’s right, I said it. This illegal immigrant killed himself and his daughter for no legitimate reason.

Liberals are saying this man was coming to America to escape “violence” in El Salvador and that he wanted “asylum” to escape dire conditions.

This is not necessarily true.

Mr. Ramírez was not running from violence. In fact, he lived in a very nice home in El Salvador, he had a steady job, and he was not subject to any political oppression, or recent violence. Ramírez was only coming to the U.S. so he could make lots of money so that he could then take it back El Salvador and buy a house.

Ramírez is NOT a “refugee” nor was he legitimately in need of asylum.

Instead, he left the nice home and his steady job in his middle class neighborhood and took his daughter on a very dangerous trip thousands of miles northward to sneak into the U.S. illegally.

Ramírez only wanted to take money out of the U.S., not become a citizen. He was the perfect example of what we don’t want in the U.S. He did not want to come to the U.S. to become an American. He just wanted to get US currency and take it money back to El Salvador.

The man does deserve some sympathy. But he does not deserve to be made into a hero.
