Man Arrested After Attacking Senator Rand Paul in Home


Kentucky State Police are currently investigating an assault on Senator Rand Paul after he was attacked in his Bowling Green home on Friday.

Police arrested, Rene Boucher,  the man being accused of assaulting the Republican Senator, and has been charged with 4th degree assault that resulted in an injury.

Kelsey Cooper, a spokeswoman for Paul, said, “Senator Paul was blindsided and the victim of an assault,” she added, “The assailant was arrested and it is now a matter for the police. Senator Paul is fine.”

According to The Hill, the Warren County Attorney’s Office put out a warrant for Boucher’s arrest on Friday, not long after the attack took place. The suspect was then identified as the 59-year-old Boucher.

We are glad to hear that the Senator is save and that the attacker is off the streets.
