Wowzers. People are currently boycotting Keurig, and some are going as far as smashing their coffee machines! Why is this? The company decided to pull their ads from Fox News’ Sean Hannity show.
Actually, there are numerous companies that pulled their advertisements because Hannity covered the nonsense allegations against GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore.
Hannity interviewed Moore on Friday, and Moore spoke against the allegations, denying them entirely. He said, “These allegations are completely false, false and misleading,” he continued, “But more than that it hurts me personally because you know I’m a father I have one daughter I have five grand daughters and I have a special concern for protection of young ladies. This is this is really hard to get on the radio and explain this and as these allegations are just completely false.”
Business News Insider reports that Keurig is now apologizing for taking sides after seeing people smashing their product:
In a memo obtained Monday by The Washington Post’s Erik Wemple, CEO Bob Gamgort called Keurig’s decision to explain its plan to “pause” its advertising with Hannity’s show “highly unusual” and “outside of company protocols.”
“This gave the appearance of ‘taking sides’ in an emotionally charged debate that escalated on Twitter and beyond over the weekend, which was not our intent,” Gamgort wrote.
He continued: “Clearly, this is an unacceptable situation that requires an overhaul of our issues response and external communications policies and the introduction of safeguards to ensure this never happens again … The nature of social media and the internet news environment is that stories like this explode, and generally do not disappear quickly.”
Twitter is blowing up with people speaking their mind on the situation. Some in support of Hannity, and others in support of Keurig.

I've had the same small Keurig machine for 5 years. Always thought about buying a new one but never got around to it. I'm now going to go out & buy the biggest home Keurig machine they've got out! Thanks @Keurig for having values and standing up for what's right! #BoycottKeurig

Donna, thank you for your concern and for bringing this to our attention. We worked with our media partner and FOX news to stop our ad from airing during the Sean Hannity Show.

Perhaps you want to rethink that, unless your goal IS to alienate over 60 million ppl… just saying…
Otherwise you'll just become one more reason I'm keeping my money by making Keurig the next NFL…#boycottKeurig
