Mayor Bill de Blasio wants to “more than triple” the number of teens released from jail without being expected to pay bail despite being charged with serious crimes like armed robbery, assault, and burglary.
The guidelines also expand the number of adults eligible for his no-bail Supervised Release Program. It would also eliminate the need for defendants to prove community ties before arraignment to qualify for supervised release.
Continued stupidity and awful management from De Blasio who wants teens charged with robbery, assault freed without bail. Worst NYC Mayor. And, he thinks he should be president? Not. https://t.co/NhtOc1zzKU via @nypmetro

New guidelines from the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice will also “significantly” expand the number of adults eligible for de Blasio’s no-bail Supervised Release Program, according to a memo sent to top city judges this month and obtained by The Post.
The policy changes — which take effect on Saturday — will let defendants between ages 16 and 19 qualify for the program’s Youth Engagement Track, which is now capped at age 17, except in Brooklyn.
It primarily covers “high-risk” teens charged with misdemeanors or nonviolent felonies but will be expanded to include first- and second-degree robbery, assault and burglary. More
Here’s more proof why Democrats need to be defeated in 2020. They’ve gone from being for law and order to being soft on crime. The reality of this is that teen criminals will simply be emboldened to commit all such crimes they want to, knowing there will be no repercussions.

When the robbery rate explodes the citizens only need to look into the mirror to see why. They voted for this when they elected de Blasio.
This guy’s views aren’t whacky. They are becoming more mainstream in today’s Democrat Party and that should give every #Democrat pause –De Blasio wants teens charged with robbery, assault freed without bail https://t.co/KPdWHyHCSG via @nypmetro

@BilldeBlasio @NYCMayor I hope one of these “misguided youths” that you set free commits another crime that affects you personally. I don’t wish violence on anyone, but ideally you’ll get hit in the donations. Maybe then you’ll stop putting #NYC at risk. https://t.co/BUFQ0CRB9g
