Nashville, Tennessee recently hosted a conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Guest speaker at the conference was Michelle Obama. In part of her speech, she compared her husband Barack and his being the first black president to the Biblical stories of Abel, Noah, Abraham and Sarah. She then referred to Hebrews 11 where it talks about these great people in the Bible all living by faith. See for yourself what she said:
I contend that Michelle Obama was referring to the wrong biblical characters when comparing them to her husband Barack. I don’t see any way that he compares to Abel, Noah, Abraham or Sarah. But when I did stop to consider which biblical character Barack Obama best compares to, I immediately thought of King Ahab.
Instead of Hebrews 11, 1 Kings 16:29-33 comes to my mind when I think of Barak Obama serving as President of the United States, which describes the reign of Ahab saying:
“In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel, and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years. And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD, more than all who were before him. And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took for his wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal and worshiped him. He erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria. And Ahab made an Asherah. Ahab did more to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.”
There can be no doubt that Obama has done evil in the sight of the LORD and more evil than all who went before him in the White House. He has erected his alter to Baal when he fully endorsed homosexuality and same-sex marriage.
The saddest part of all of this is that watching Barack Obama, since he has taken office, indicates that he seems to liken himself to Jesus Christ more than any other person in the Bible. He acts like he has a god-complex and thinks of himself almost as some form of diety.
Just as the people of Israel believed that there was no hope of salvation from the evils of King Ahab, American’s today believe that we have no hope of salvation from the evils of Barack Obama if he wins re-election in November, which is why there is so much riding on the November 6 election.
