The Dearborn, Michigan, school district is going full Muslim for school meals by announcing all food will be Halal from hence forth.
The announcement was made on the district’s website, according to Pamela Geller.
The school announcement reads: “Dearborn Public Schools ensures all meats served in our schools are certified Halal.”
However, Geller reports that one mother of a non-Muslim family is striking back to get the school to end the discriminatory practice.
The parent protested to Dearborn school superintendent Glenn Maleyko and said, “Schools have never changed lunches to fit any other religious needs. If one needed a special diet due to religion or health, they did what all other students do, bring a lunch from home.”
But the quisling Maleyko defended the practice: “The decision was based on operational considerations only, not religion. By implementing an all Halal meat option we have increased the number of students that we are serving[.] … It would cost a lot more to provide both Halal and non-Halal meat.”
Geller slammed the decision to bow to Islam:
Dearborn’s actions here should be a matter of concern for all free people. This is a manifestation of the Left’s absolute march, without consideration or question, toward exclusionary, supremacist practices that any genuinely pluralistic society should reject. Dearborn Public Schools officials are demonstrating a totalitarian assuredness in the delusional comfort of enlightenment, diversity, and inclusion. They’re in for an unpleasant surprise: they’re accommodating a radically non-diverse, non-inclusive
Clearly the move to force all kids to eat Halal food is discriminatory against all non-Muslims and should be abandoned.
But the fact that it was done without any public discussion is also un-American on the extreme.
