“The Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary on matters related to homeland security. The Council comprises leaders from state and local government, first responder communities, the private sector, and academia.”
At that time I questioned Elibiary’s role in the Department of Homeland Security since he is a radical Muslim who openly supported Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood. I believed then that Barack Obama’s open support for the Muslim Brotherhood, a known Muslim extremist terrorist group, had something to do with Elibiary’s role on the Advisory Council.
Elibiary not only supported the Muslim Brotherhood but he was also a strong follower of the Islamic martyr Sayyid Qutb who was executed in 1966 for trying to overthrow the Egyptian government. Before his death, Qutb called all Muslims to unite and form a global Islamic state. He stated:
“There is only one place on earth which can be called the home of Islam (Dar-ul-Islam), and it is that place where the Islamic state is established and the Shariah is the authority and God’s limits are observed.”
Referring to the writings of Qutb, Elibiary wrote:
“The potential for a strong spiritual rebirth that’s truly ecumenical allowing all faiths practiced in America to enrich us and motivate us to serve God better by serving our fellow man more.”
A number of lawmakers have been pressuring DHS to remove Elibiary from his high level security position. They saw it as a conflict of interest and threat to national security. Now it seems that the Department of Homeland Security has wised up about Elibiary. Last week it was reported that the radical Muslim resigned, but it now appears that he was fired.
According to a report in The Washington Free Beacon:
“A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) adviser long engulfed in controversy over his radical views was let go from his role in the department last week after a long fight by lawmakers and others to revoke the individual’s privileges at DHS.”
“Mohamed Elibiary was until last week a senior member of DHS’ Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC). After years of controversy about his status at DHS, Elibiary announced his final day with the department on Twitter earlier this month and said he would remain close to the agency.”
“Media outlets have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding his departure, speculating that his provocative comments about the ‘inevitable’ return of the Muslim ‘caliphate’ may have played a role.”
“New documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon indicate that Elibiary had no choice in the matter, and that he may have been let go by DHS in order to minimize the fallout from an investigation into allegations that he improperly accessed and used classified materials obtained with his security clearance.”
“Elibiary was originally appointed to HSAC in 2010 and reappointed in September 2013 with the elevated title of ‘senior fellow,’ DHS informed Rep. Louie Gohmert (R., Texas) in a July letter about Elibiary’s status with the agency, according to a copy of that correspondence obtained by the Free Beacon.”
“‘Mr. Elibiary will not be reappointed when his term expires in September of 2014,’ Alan Bernstein, DHS assistant secretary for policy and chief diplomatic officer, informed Gohmert.”
“Bernstein provided no specific reason for this decision and a DHS spokesperson did not respond to a request for more information on the matter.”
To be honest, I don’t care if he resigned, was fire or just not reappointed. I’m just glad that he’s gone. He had no business holding the high level position he had with his extremist views, many of which are held by the very people we are fighting against and who have vowed to destroy the US.
Yet the Obama administration has no problem placing Muslim extremists in top positions. Besides Obama holding the office he does, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top advisor and confidant’s mother was a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, the female branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. Huma Abedin had full access to the highest level state department information and intelligence. If Abedin played such a key role when Hillary was Secretary of State, just imagine the Cabinet appointees she would make if she became president in 2016. It could be scarier than Obama and his Cabinet.
