Muslim Ilhan Omar Catches Flack for Insensitive Tweet About Notre Dame Fire

Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar took criticism with her vague and insensitive tweet about the disastrous burning of the famed Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, Monday.

The fire was upsetting both to the world’s Catholics as well as all who hold western civilization dear, but Omar was unable to bring herself to even mention the name of the cathedral much less use words like “Catholics” or “Christians.”

Apparently some people did something to some building.

Instead, Omar rambled about “architecture” that “brings people together,” or some such nonsense.

“Art and architecture have a unique ability to help us connect across our differences and bring people together in important ways,” Omar posted on April 15. “Thinking of the people of Paris and praying for every first responder trying to save this wonder.”

It wasn’t long before Omar’s critics pounced on her purposeful vagueness.

Conservative commentator and National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch responded, “Well, the ‘architecture’ that the art was housed in is a cathedral. While Biblically Christ is wherever His people are, Notre Dame is a significant and storied icon of faith.”

Harry Khachatrian hit the perfect note tweeting, “Did something happen to some building?”

Radio host Larry O’Connor was equally disgusted by Omar’s unsatisfactory tweet.

Alejandrina Gonzalez Reyes reminded Omar, “it’s called Notre Dame Cathedral fyi.”
