Remember how the Democrats keep saying that putting troops on the border is meaningless, do-nothingness? Well a group of National Guard soldiers just helped apprehend 75 illegals over the previous weekend.
According to a new press release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the troops were quite an asset to the Border Patrol in the Tucson area.
“Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested 75 illegal aliens with assistance from National Guard helicopter crews working under Operation Guardian Support over the weekend,” the press release said.

The press release goes on:
Throughout the weekend, agents encountered 10 separate groups across the desert west of Tucson. Border Patrol agents aboard National Guard UH-72 Lakota and UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters guided other agents on the ground to make the arrests, and at times deployed to the ground to make the arrests themselves.
The release adds that the illegals were arrested “north of the border in rugged, remote terrain and wearing camouflage clothing to avoid apprehension.”
The press release concluded saying:
OGS personnel continue to serve as a valuable assets in the Border Patrol’s security mission. The National Guard provides assistance in multiple areas such as aerial support, road maintenance, fleet repair, camera surveillance, and infrastructure construction and repair.
Democrats keep saying that having troops on the border is pointless and that they aren’t doing anything useful.
This sure makes that claim look like BS.
