Networks Spent 2,202 Minutes on Fake Russia Scandal, Zero for Report of No Collusion

The big three networks, were most Americans still get their news, spent 2,202 minutes “reporting” on Robert Mueller’s fake Russia investigation, but spent exactly zero time reporting on recent revelations that Mueller still has no evidence of Trump colluding with Russia.

A recent review of the coverage of the so-called “Russia investigation” by special counsel Robert Mueller aired by ABC, CBS, and NBC found that the three networks’ big news programs have given lush coverage to the investigation.

But, over the last few days reports began emerging (from liberal news sources, mind you) that Mueller has found no evidence at all that Trump or his campaign “colluded” with Russians to affect the outcome of the 2016 presidential elections.

MRC analysts examining all coverage on ABC’s World News Tonight, the CBS Evening News, and the NBC Nightly News found that those 2,202 minutes spent on the Russia investigation accounted for nearly 19 percent of all Trump-related reporting between January 21, 2017 and February 10, 2019. However, none of those three shows have even mentioned the investigation since NBC’s report came out on February 12.

The situation has been much the same on those networks’ flagship morning shows. Neither CBS This Morning nor NBC’s Today have even acknowledged this new information from Senate investigators since the news broke on February 12. ABC’s Good Morning America briefly touched on it in a news brief totaling less than one minute on February 13.

But these reports all ignored recent revelations by Democrats on a congressional committee reporting that no collusion has been found.

Worse for NBC’s coverage is the fact that the “no collusion” finding was first reported by NBC’s own Ken Dilanian who wrote on February 12 that:

After two years and 200 interviews, the Senate Intelligence committee is approaching the end of its investigation into the 2016 election, having uncovered no direct evidence of a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, according to both Democrats and Republicans on the committee.

MRC added that over the last two years the big three networks have beat viewers over the head with 36 hours of scary reports about how Trump was “colluding” with the Russians to alter the results of the 2016 election but has spent zero seconds informing viewers that after two years of investigating and untold millions of dollars spent to do it, no evidence of this “collusion” has been found.
