Laura Ingraham learned a good lesson the hard way: Don’t ever apologize to a Leftist. Leftists are never satisfied. Once you apologize, they will come back for more. Your apology will never be enough. They will only be satisfied when you are without a voice and begging on the streets for food.
Ingraham described anti-gun advocate as a whiner because he was complaining that he had not been accepted by for California universities. Describing someone as a whiner is not “cyberbullying,” something David Hogg’s sister accused Ingraham of doing.
Asa result of Ingraham’s remark, Hogg went hog-wild by calling on advertisers to drop her show on Fox. Her apology was not enough. She had to denounce Fox News.
Hogg is on the national media stage and he’s complaining and attacking a talk show host who called him a whiner? Welcome to the world of politics where Pres. Trump has been described as the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini and nearly all conservatives have been described as racists and Nazis.
On the one hand, Hogg wants to be treated as an adult, but on the other hand, he wants to be regarded as a child. “Donny Deutsch weighed in on the controversy over Fox News host Laura Ingraham’s comments on Parkland survivor David Hogg by stating, ‘We can’t have animals on the air attacking children.’” It’s wrong to describe Hogg as a whiner, but it’s OK to describe Ingraham as an “animal.”
Ingraham has been attacked throughout her career, as has anyone who is a public figure and addresses controversial issues. When she told Lebron to “shut up and dribble,” she was labeled a “racist” (of course) even though she had used the “shut up” theme in her criticism of the Dixie Chicks.
“In 2003, I wrote a New York Times bestseller called ‘Shut Up & Sing,’ in which I criticized celebrities like the Dixie Chicks & Barbra Streisand who were trashing then-President George W. Bush. I have used a variation of that title for more than 15 years to respond to performers who sound off on politics.”
Unlike Hogg, LeBron James did not call on Ingraham’s advertisers to drop her show. He did what an adult does. He responded in kind. With a verbal counter-response. That’s the way it should be done.
When Joy Behar attacked Vice President Mike Pence and his religious beliefs, thereby offending millions of Christians, not a single advertiser jumped ship.
Ingraham was making the point that most music and sports fans don’t want to hear about politics. They want to listen to music and watch sporting events to get away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind of work and politics.
Hogg wants it both ways. He wants to be able to attack anyone who supports the NRA and attacks him. His most recent attack is against wheelchair-bound Sen. John McCain who has received financial support from the NRA. The NRA didn’t shoot anyone. Let’s see if the retiring Senator apologizes.
Here’s what Hogg said about older people:
“When your old-ass parent is like, ‘I don’t know how to send an iMessage,’ and you’re just like, ‘Give me the f–king phone and let me handle it.’ Sadly, that’s what we have to do with our government. Our parents don’t know how to use a f–king democracy, so we have to.”
He’s complaining about being called a “whiner,” but it’s OK for him to denigrate a generation of Americans who fought and died for his freedom to march and speak about what he believes and is passionate about, but woe to anyone who criticizes his comments and actions.
The sad thing is, the media has jumped on Hogg’s bandwagon in order to score a political advantage. The ultimate goal is to defeat Trump and retake Congress.
Hogg and the entire anti-NRA “movement” is political theater for Democrats and their Leftist supporters. Where were they during the eight years when Obama was President and there were school shootings, military base shootings, and the Inland Regional Center shooting in San Bernardino, California?
There were no school walkouts, marches, or criticisms of the party in power. The goal was always to protect President Obama.
This is the latest from David Hogg:
“I want people to understand, we’re not trying to take your guns, we’re not against the Second Amendment, we don’t want to repeal the Second Amendment,” Hogg added. “We simply want gun legislation in this country that allows law-abiding citizens to still own guns but prevents people with a history of mental illness or a history of a criminal background from owning a firearm. It’s as simple as that.”
But the march was not “as simple as that.” Attacking the NRA was not “as simple as that.” Denigrating people as “your old-ass parent” isn’t “as simple as that.” The officials that new about the shooter’s background did nothing after repeated warnings from numerous people, including the school.
