New Black Panther Party Expresses Buyer’s Remorse Over Obama

Sometimes you don’t know whether to laugh or cry at the stupidity of people who voted for Barack Obama.

The New Black Panther Party, which has been one of the president’s favored street campaign units, has come out with an editorial in its newsletter lambasting Obama for being a huge disappointment.

“The black community is at large no better off than before he was in office. We are curious as to what his agenda is for Black people in America and if he even has one,” wrote Malik Zulu Shabazz, NBPP chairman. He cites the dismissal of voter intimidation charges in 2008 as one of the few things Obama’s done right.

In the editorial, Shabazz lists his past hopes for the Obama regime, then goes on to complain about how Obama has failed to deliver almost every single one of them. Chief among the complaints is that Obama has continued some of the Bush administration’s policies in the War on Terror (I’m sure Shabazz was hoping for a family reunion when the Gitmo boys got out) and failing to better the economic situation for blacks.

It’s that last point that seems to have been a pivotal part of Black Panthers’ awakening.

The newsletter’s editor, Chawn Kweli, wrote, “Mr. Obama’s policies have not corrected the economic troubles of America, they have gotten worse. The debt continues to expand (into the trillions), and the administration’s handling of international relations has hardened dialogue with foreign nations. Mr. Obama’s policies have been especially harsh to us the Black community. He bailed out Wall Street and the auto makers but kept us at the top of the unemployment ladder.”

OK, let’s have a quick show of hands. Who’s surprised by this news?

Shabazz seemed particularly stunned to realize exactly what he is to the Democratic Party.

“Black peoples are the whores and prostitutes of the Democratic Party, and mistreated mistress that is courted in the late of night, but left hanging when it is time for real change in the light of the post election day,” Shabazz wrote.

Bingo. We have a winner.

Kweli continues: “With strategy, Obama will sing a little Al Green, do a little dance, and win black votes. Sadly like obedient sheep, we go to the polls and vote for ‘Black skin,’ no matter how destructive the policies.”

Nailed it.

You almost want to cheer at this point, but unfortunately, the Black Panthers’ seeds of revelation haven’t born fruit yet.

Shabazz falls back on stereotypes when he talks about the GOP being a racist party, and any black Republicans as “bootlickers.”

Then he falls into old habits when he tells his readers that blacks must decide whether the ballot or “the bullet” is the best method for change.

Democrats love to complain about how conservatives are “dangerous,” a threat to the nation, potentially violent, blah blah blah, but here we have yet again proof that it is the Democrat Party’s radical elements that always have a hair trigger — so to speak.

I’ve got no sympathy for Obama or the Democrats on this point. The Republican Party freed the slaves, pushed through the Civil Rights Act and in general has done more than the Democrats ever have to encourage black entrepreneurs and the sanctity of black American families, and for our troubles, we get called racists.

Now here are the Democrats giving the Black Panthers a pass on voter intimidation, and the NBPP turns around and starts talking about Obama and bullets in the same sentence. I’m sure Eric Holder’s Department of Racial Justice will find a way to ignore that, but both the administration and the Panthers should remember the saying: play with fire, expect to get burned.
