Not even a month has gone by with the Democrats in control of Congress and they are already wrecking havoc on the country. The latest attack on our traditions comes with Democrats looking to take references to God out of the oaths witnesses take before Congressional committees.
The reason we add oaths of “so help me God” in witness oaths is to impress on witnesses that there is a higher power than man and if they are swearing to that higher power, then they are promising that their testimony is the absolute truth.
But if there is no higher power, then there is nothing greater than man to impress on witnesses that the truth is essential in congressional investigations.
But now Democrats want to take this appeal to a higher power out of our courtroom oaths.
According to Fox News:
A key committee in the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives is moving to eliminate the God reference from the oath administered to witnesses testifying before the panel, as part of a new rules package expected to be approved this week, according to a draft obtained exclusively by Fox News.
The new language would only say, “Do you solemnly swear or affirm, under penalty of law, that the testimony that you are about to give is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?” Fox said.
The rules proposal places the words “so help you God” in red brackets, indicating they are slated to be cut. The words “under penalty of law” are in red text, indicating that Democrats propose to add that phrasing to the oath.
Then the committee went for more social justice warrior garbage:
The draft rules also remove the phrase “his or her” throughout the document, changing those two pronouns to “their.” The rules additionally modify all references to the committee’s “Chairman” to instead refer only to the committee’s “Chair.”
So, once again we see Democrats doing their level best to eliminate everything that makes the U.S.A. the greatest nation on earth.
