The next target for unhinged liberals appears to be crosswalk lights because they feature a “racist” white man crossing the road.
Yes, the little white guy crossing the road is racist… so, it’s time to end crosswalk lights.
This is today’s lesson in white privilege and the white patriarchy delivered to us by the slow-witted and dangerously woke David Kauffman, a writer at the site Medium.com.
Our little pal, Davey, says that racism is found in your traffic lights, America. And “just because something doesn’t use an offensive mascot doesn’t mean it can’t reinforce a broken system.”
No, this nitwit is serious. Quit laughing.
In his piece, Kaufman is seen wringing his hands over the “far more subtle streams of everyday racism that course through our homes, our workplaces, and the outside world.”
“These instances may be far subtler than a mascot or an offensive term, but are no less pervasive — and no less deserving of cultural reckoning,” he laments.
“For me, this reckoning begins with traffic signals,” he earnestly intoned.
I think it actually started when he went off his meds.
In his fever dream state, Kaufman had an epiphany.
“I realize that White people like to exert control over nearly everything everyone does, I thought, but since when did this literally include trying to cross the street?” he wrote.
Now, quit laughing. Davey is SERIOUS!
Having a little white man on his crosswalk light really sent him into a tizzy.
It certainly bothered me — so much so that I began to dig deep into my fortysomething consciousness to try and remember if I was raised asking a little White guy to let me cross the street. Were these the words my progressive White mother used to teach her little Brown children the fundamentals of pedestrian safety? Turns out, I wasn’t raised this way — and neither, most likely, were you.
After going on and on, Davey boy ended all hot and bothered about the “government-approved origins of the ‘little White men’ telling us to cross the street at corners across New York.”
Let’s hope Davey’s psychiatrist gets him back on his meds real soon.
