Remember when President Donald Trump said that many of these illegals trying to get into our country were not our southern neighbors’ “best”? Yeah, now we find out that an organizer of one those so-called “migrant caravans” has been accused of rape.
Police in Honduras arrested Juan Carlos Molina, 26, in connection with a rape charge from 2015.
According to Breitbart News, Honduran officials said that Molina is “one of the main organizers and promoters of a caravan of individuals from Honduras who are seeking to reach the U.S. border to request asylum.”
Molina is apparently part of the group organizing the newest so-called “migrant caravan.”
The caravan left the northern city of San Pedro Sula earlier than expected. There was chatter on social media that the group would leave at 5 a.m. on Tuesday. It is unclear why the group left earlier, but rainy weather could have played a role.
The scene was a familiar one: The group had a mix of people that included some mothers carrying their young children on their shoulders. It’s unclear where the group will rest, but past migrants have used the Honduran city of Quimistan, which is 35 miles from the bus stop, as an early checkpoint.
The Honduran police released some information:
Initial information released by Miguel Perez, the sub-director of the Honduran Border Police, reveals that the arrest took place at the bus station in San Pedro Sula from where the first members of the caravan departed. Perez stated that at the time of his arrest, Molina had fake IDs. The warrant for Molina’s arrest comes from a 2015 rape investigation, Honduras’ El Heraldo reported.
It reminds us of the warning Trump gave during his 2016 campaign.
During one of the debates in 2016, Trump famously slammed some of these immigrants.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. Their rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
Of course, the media went wild saying that Trump called illegal aliens rapists. But he really didn’t. He simply identified the criminals coming over the border.
Well, looks like Trump is right… again.
