Here we go again, with liberals working to destroy American patriotism and culture. This time liberals are claiming that the Pledge of Allegiance is rooted in “white supremacy.”
A group of America-hating progressives have gathered to re-write the Pledge of Allegiance to eliminate the “nativism and white supremacy” the pledge is soaked in, according to The Washington Times.
One of those seeking to destroy American comity is illegal alien Cesar Vargas, an Obama “Dreamer” who came here illegally as a child.
Vargas claims he wants to re-write the Pledge to give it “optimism” and to eliminate the “fear” in it.
“The upgraded version should read: ‘I pledge allegiance and love to our indigenous and immigrant heritage, rooted in the United States of America, to our civil rights for which we strive, one voice, one nation, for equality and justice for all,'” Mr. Vargas wrote in a commentary piece for The Hill, a newspaper covering Congress and Washington.
Vargas then continued by glomming onto the fake news lie about the Catholic kids in D.C. saying, “‘white teenagers harassing a Native American elder or chanting ‘build the wall’ at Mexican immigrants’ cry out for a rethink of the way the country views itself.'”
Of course, this is an outright lie.
None of the teens in the D.C. incident yelled “build the wall.”
Vargas also had an absurd, touchy-feelie idea that Americans should deliver his new pledge facing each other instead of facing the flag.
This is a stupid idea, of course.
The whole point of a pledge is to pledge to a “higher power.” The flag represents something more than the individual. It stands for the whole of the nation, and the betterment of all of us.
But pledging to “each other,” as Vargas said, is an example of the fatal flaw in liberalism. It maintains that man IS the higher power. But that means that man can give anything yet take away everything. To liberals, there is no higher law than man’s momentary whim, and that means nothing is sacred.
That is why liberalism is so dangerous.
